A fairly straightforward, tiny drink, it’s a double espresso “marked” with a small stain of steamed milk or foam. (Fun fact: Macchiato means "to mark.")
The opposite of the traditional macchiato — instead of milk "marking" the espresso, the espresso "marks" 12oz of milk before sinking to the bottom of the cup.
A sweet, dessert-y coffee drink, this iteration is like a latte macchiato — but flavored with a caramel syrup or sauce.
