To achieve the perfect tamp, there are three factors to keep in mind:  1. Grind size 2. Dosing  3. Cleaning

GRIND SIZE

For the best espresso, you'll need a consistently fine grind —  the size and feel of granulated  sugar.

DOSING

A  shot of espresso needs a 1:2 ratio of grounds to water. For a standard 1oz espresso shot,  9g of finely ground coffee is the sweet spot.

CLEANING

Keeping your espresso machine as clean as possible ensures the best-tasting coffee. Clean the components  and wipe down after each use.
