What It Is & When to Use It

All About Cold Foam

Cold foam is an easy, creamy way to take your iced coffee to the next level! Here's everything you need to know about this delightful, pillowy addition.

What is exactly is cold foam?

Cold foam is the chilled equivalent of hot foam on a cappuccino. It's made by adding air into milk or heavy cream, creating tiny air bubbles. While it might look like whipped cream, cold foam is pourable, not stiff.

How do I use cold foam?

Top your iced coffee or cold brew with cold foam! It will seep slowly into the drink, making it extra creamy. Add another dimension to your foam by adding basic flavors and sweeteners.

Is cold foam only for iced coffee drinks?

No way! Cold foam is also a great addition to chai (tea) lattes, hot chocolate, smoothies, and more.

A Quick Note

Cold foam quickly melts in hot beverages, so it’s not an ideal addition in most cases. Some people like it, but as a rule of thumb – use hot foam for hot drinks, and cold foam for cold coffee drinks.
